Royal Canadian Legion
Branch 52 Kamloops BC

Dec 2017/Jan 2018 Legion Events

Over the closing months of the year, many events were held at Branch 52, from 90+ birthday celebrations for members, to young violinists playing Christmas tunes at the meat draw, to a New Year's Day Levee & Open House.

Branch 52 was open to the public on January 1st and held a New Year's Levee. Numerous guests, including members of the Rocky Mountain Rangers reserve unit, veterans, guests and Legion members attended.

A delicious luncheon was offered for guests at the New Year's Levee including baked ham, beans, vegetables, and more.

Legion members were delighted on a Saturday afternoon in December, to hear Christmas tunes played by Wesley (12) and his sisters, Vanessa (10) and Christine (8), siblings from the Mah family in Kamloops.

Legion member, Helen Surette celebrated a milestone birthday in December, and enjoyed Christmas tunes by children of the Mah family, at the Legion.

Les Nolin (far left) spoke at the Legion in December about the history of the founding of the CNIB which emerged as a result of veterans returning from war more than 100 years ago. Nolin and other representatives of the CNIB presented members with a cake to honour its association with the Legion and veterans.

The Legion can facilitate special events and children can attend too!
