BC/Yukon Literary & Poster Competition
Kamloops Student wins 1st place
Kali McDermott, age 12, a student at Lloyd George Elementary school, won 1st place in the Junior Color Poster contest at the BC/Yukon provincial level. Shown with Kali is Clarence Schneider, Branch 52, Kamloops BC. Kali was presented with a plaque as well as a cheque, and she will be attending special ceremonies at Government House in Victoria in November, along with other first-place winners in BC/Yukon Command.

Did you know the Legion is available for private parties of functions? The Legion facilities are available for private parties, functions or events. If you are looking for a place to hold a special function, be it a birthday party, an office party, family dinner or reunion, or even just a club meeting, we may be able to provide the location for you. With your event, we can provide bar services, including a server, for the event.
We would ask for a nominal rental fee, which may be waived, depending on your event. The Legion could also be contracted to prepare and provide a meal or snacks for your group. Cost of presenting a meal would be determined on the type of meal and the number of people.

Kamloops Legion Branch 52 honors and supports Canadian Veterans and ex-service personnel, their families and the Kamloops community. As a volunteer community organization we are proud of our history of assisting Veterans and sponsoring programs in our community.

To the community at large, traditionally membership has been restricted to those who have served in the military and their families however, today, associate memberships exist to include all members of the community at large.
Veteran’s Assistance Program
One of the most obvious services we provide is the companionship of staying connected with other Veterans.
We have experienced and dedicated members on the executive who along with our general membership and the Ladies Auxiliary, serve in various volunteer positions within the branch.
Our Service Officer and Members at Large are trained and ready to assist Veterans with any issues they may have.
Cadet Liaison Office
Legion Branch 52 is very active with the local area Cadet movement.
We assist and support the various local cadet units such as:
Our support includes providing items Cadets need for their training, rental hall fees and filling in funding gaps.
Bursary Program for Post-Secondary Education
Each year Branch 52 awards financial assistance to qualified applicants attending a post-secondary educational facility. For more information regarding bursaries, please email the Bursary Chair at administrator@kamloopslegion.com
Hospital Outreach (Sick and Visiting)
Hospital outreach is another important function of the Kamloops Legion.
When notified, we provide visits to Veterans and members that are ill or in hospital.
Community Housing
In the mid-90’s Kamloops Legion purchased a number of apartments in a local Manor House apartment complex in implement a ‘rent controlled’ system.
Manor House Apartments offer safe affordable housing for seniors in the downtown area.
